Train with a Pro: A Special Workout with Former Professional Handball Player Carlos Lima
Sport brings people together, fosters new connections, and opens up opportunities to push beyond one’s limits. At the “Train with a Pro” event, our SPORTEGRATION community experienced just that: Together with former national handball player Carlos Lima, our participants enjoyed a special training day filled with physical activity, team spirit, and new experiences.
About 20 participants participated in this special training session on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Weissenstein Sports Hall in Bern. First, they received an introduction to the most important handball rules. Then they tried out various exercises. Finally, they played together as a team, allowing the participants to immediately apply what they had learned.
Meeting Carlos Lima was a special highlight. For our community, it was a unique opportunity to train with a former professional, learn from his experiences, and gain insight into the world of competitive sports. Everyone's joy was evident throughout the entire training session, especially during the final game, where the focus was on having fun together.
This day once again highlighted just how much of a difference sports can make. Training together brings people together and creates opportunities for new connections. At the same time, participants can push themselves beyond their limits and gain more confidence in their own abilities. These experiences demonstrate what SPORTEGRATION stands for: connection, solidarity, and integration through sports.
We’d like to wholeheartedly thank Carlos Lima for this special day and his valuable collaboration. A big thank you also goes to GC Amicitia Zurich for donating the handballs for the training session.
