Together at the stadium: GC match excites our community
Football has the unique power to bring people together – regardless of origin, language, or life story. That is exactly what we experienced together at the match between Grasshopper Club Zurich and Lausanne.
Thanks to our cooperation with Grasshopper Club Zurich, we were able to distribute 55 tickets to our community. For many participants, it was their very first visit to a stadium. This gave our community a truly memorable moment. The excitement was tangible as we entered the stadium together and experienced the unique atmosphere of a live match.
On the pitch, the game was evenly matched and full of goals, remaining exciting until the very end. Even though GC could not secure the win, the evening was a great success for our participants. The focus was not on the result, but on the shared experience and the joy of sport.
Events like this are an essential part of our work. They demonstrate how sports programs and recreational activities create opportunities for people with refugee backgrounds to connect and strengthen social cohesion. Integration through sport in Switzerland becomes tangible through shared emotions, exchange, and new experiences.
A special thank you goes to Grasshopper Club Zurich for their trust and commitment. Partnerships like this are crucial for enabling sustainable integration work and bringing people together. They create opportunities, promote participation, and show how much can be achieved through collective effort.
We are very much looking forward to continuing this valuable collaboration and creating more special experiences for our community in the future.
