Three days at Fantasy Basel, one ping-pong table and countless encounters

From 14 to 16 May, SPORTEGRATION was present at Fantasy Basel and had the chance to experience the special atmosphere on site. We brought along a ping-pong table, which quickly became a popular meeting point.

Many visitors, participants, volunteers and curious passers-by stopped by, picked up a paddle and played a round with us. In addition, there were several challenges where visitors could take part and win SPORTEGRATION merch. A handstand workshop also brought movement, fun and new sporting experiences to the event.

These activities led to spontaneous encounters, short conversations and many shared moments. What was especially beautiful to see was that at the ping-pong table, it did not really matter which language someone spoke, where they came from or how much experience they had. Through playing together, connection happened naturally. A ball, a table and the joy of movement were enough to laugh together, exchange ideas and become part of a shared moment.

For SPORTEGRATION, Fantasy Basel was a valuable opportunity to make our work more visible and to show how integration through sport and leisure activities can be lived in Switzerland. Ping-pong became more than just a game. It became an easy and open way to create exchange, community and mutual understanding.

We would like to thank everyone who stopped by, played with us, took part in the challenges or wanted to learn more about SPORTEGRATION. The many encounters showed once again how valuable sport can be as a simple way to bring people together.
