New energy, new activities, and more movement – supporting integration through sport in Switzerland

With the arrival of warmer days, SPORTEGRATION enters the outdoor season – one of the most vibrant times of the year. In recent weeks, many sports programs have moved from indoor to outdoor settings or have been newly launched. The goal remains the same: bringing people together, enabling movement, and strengthening integration through sport.

In the canton of Bern, football and basketball trainings are now taking place outdoors again. Basketball in particular reflects the open and dynamic nature of the community, where spontaneous games regularly emerge. In addition, a new running course has been launched, offering an accessible way for people to stay active together outdoors.

In the canton of Zurich, the transition outdoors is also well underway. Football trainings in Zurich are now held outside on Mondays and Thursdays, while in Winterthur the Friday session has also moved outdoors. The restart of the Monday beach volleyball course adds another opportunity for free sports and shared leisure time.

In Basel City, the seasonal shift is bringing fresh momentum as well. Cricket and volleyball are now played outdoors, and football will soon follow. At the same time, a new swimming course has started, expanding the range of activities. Pilates sessions will also be held outdoors when weather permits, adding variety to the program.

These sports programs not only provide access to movement and leisure, but also create meaningful connections. They offer people the opportunity to engage, become part of a community, and actively participate in society – contributing to sustainable integration and strong social engagement.
