Reaching new heights together!

4/1/2026

A special training session of movement, courage, and community awaited several participants of our community in Bern: together with ClimbAID, they had the opportunity to discover the world of climbing. For the participants, it was their first time on a climbing wall – making the excitement and motivation to take on this new challenge even greater.

With professional guidance, participants made their way up step by step. It was not only about physical performance but also about trust, mutual support, and overcoming personal limits. This is exactly where the power of sport for people with a refugee background becomes visible: it creates spaces for connection, builds confidence, and supports integration in a natural and meaningful way.

The event also provided a chance to step outside the daily routine and build new connections. The shared experience at the climbing wall strengthened the group and created many moments of success – whether reaching the next hold or cheering each other on.

Such sporting activities for people with a refugee background are a key part of our work at SPORTEGRATION. They demonstrate how intercultural connections through sport in Switzerland can succeed and highlight the importance of volunteering and engagement in making these experiences possible.

A big thank you goes to ClimbAID for the great collaboration and to everyone involved in making this day happen. We are looking forward to many more events that bring people together and open up new perspectives.
