How companies can contribute to integration
We have been working with ebi-pharm on our mentorship program since March 2024. This project brings company employees together with refugees who are looking for guidance and support on their path into Swiss society. The programme is an inspiring example of how companies can actively contribute to integration and assume social responsibility.
The aim of the programme
Expand networks: By participating in company events such as the staff outing, encounters between employees and mentees are encouraged. These not only create mutual understanding, but also valuable professional and social contacts.
Support & empowerment: The mentors provide their mentees with individual support - be it with career guidance, everyday challenges or joint leisure activities.
Why is this important?
Integration processes can often be challenging for refugees: language barriers, a lack of networks and orientation in a new culture are just some of the hurdles. Mentorship programs such as the one with ebi-pharm offer support at eye level and create bridges that can lead to long-term success. Companies also benefit by promoting diversity and strengthening a culture of cooperation.
Stefan Binz, who manages the programme at ebi-pharm, emphasises: "I notice how active involvement in projects or direct support for people in need brings personal fulfilment."
