We all sweat the same – Running for Connection
This past Saturday, more than 100 people ran through the city – including SPORTEGRATION participants, Laureus ambassadors, and many other incredible humans. What started as a simple group run turned into something much more meaningful: a day of connection, movement, and cultural exchange.
For many of our runners who are new to Switzerland, events like these are more than just physical activity. They are opportunities to feel seen, to find belonging, and to meet people from different backgrounds – including professional Swiss athletes who might just become inspiring new role models.
One moment stood out in particular: Sean Fitzpatrick, chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy and former captain of the legendary All Blacks, shared the Haka with our group. This powerful Māori tradition from Aotearoa (New Zealand) was not only impressive to witness – it was an emotional expression of unity and strength.
At SPORTEGRATION, we believe that integration through sport is about more than fitness. It’s about sharing cultures, learning from each other, and growing together. This day with Laureus reminded us: when we move together, we move closer together.
A heartfelt thank you to the Laureus Foundation Switzerland for making this experience possible.
