SPORTEGRATION celebrates its birthday

8/15/2025

On August 11, 2016, SPORTEGRATION held its first Fitboxing training session at Silo Zurich. Founder Annina Largo had a clear vision: to use sport as a bridge to connect people with and without refugee backgrounds. Then as now, the aim is to be active together, to exchange ideas, and to make integration a tangible part of everyday life.

Today, nine years later, SPORTEGRATION is much more than just a sports program. It is a community. A movement. A space for encounters, friendships, and personal growth. Many of the participants in the first training session at Silo are now firmly anchored in Swiss society—they work, study, get involved, or are themselves trainers on the field.

SPORTEGRATION is now active in four cantons and offers numerous free sports programs for refugees – from fitboxing and volleyball to yoga and running. This is only possible thanks to the commitment of over 200 volunteers, strong partners, and the tireless energy of our community.

On our ninth birthday, we say: Thank you! For your trust, for every single moment, and for the journey we have taken together.
