International Volunteer Day
Today, on International Volunteer Day, we would like to thank all those who dedicate their time, energy and passion to making the world a better place. Your support is the engine that strengthens communities, builds bridges and creates positive change.
Volunteering in Switzerland: impressive figures
1.2 million people are involved in organisations or associations to achieve great things together.
2.3 million people provide informal help such as neighbourhood support, childcare or care.
On average, volunteers invest 4.1 hours per week to support their fellow human beings and make an important contribution to society.
Volunteering is also at the heart of our success at SPORTEGRATION. 204 volunteers, including 34 people with a refugee background, help us to realise our mission. Through sporting activities, we create places of encounter, cultural exchange and integration - for a society in which everyone can find their place.
Why volunteering is essential
Volunteering means more than just investing time:
- It strengthens social cohesion.
- It complements paid work where help is urgently needed.
- It promotes better coexistence and enables sustainable integration.
Your contributions are invaluable and make a difference every day. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts today.
Become part of the movement!
