SRF visits SPORTEGRATION

2/11/2025

SPORTEGRATION was in the spotlight this week: Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) accompanied two training sessions and spoke to participants and coaches about the importance of sport for integration.

At the volleyball training session led by Eva Largo, SRF was able to experience first-hand how sport brings people from different cultures together. Jonas and Samiullah, two refugees from Eritrea and Afghanistan, reported on their experiences with the training. They particularly focussed on the joy of exercise and the strong sense of community.

The functional fitness training was also accompanied - under the direction of Daniel Ammann, who used to work as an intern at SPORTEGRATION. Viktoriia, a refugee from Ukraine, told us how much the sports sessions help her in her everyday life. In particular, the dialogue in the courses not only gives her new strength, but also helps her to learn the language better.

The emotional reportage impressively shows how sport not only strengthens you physically, but also creates social connections and opens up new perspectives for refugees.
